What is Plum Blossom Numerology?

Plum Blossom I Ching (梅花易数, Méihuā Yìshù) is a later symbolic-number tradition that organizes observations through time, numbers, characters, and visible forms. Later accounts differ about its authorship, date, and lineage; this site does not treat any one attribution as verified history or evidence of prediction.

How this workflow organizes reflection

AiDao does not compare cultural traditions by claiming that one is “more accurate.” Its own workflow is exposed as four checkable steps:

• Program calculation: turns time, numbers, text, or a user-confirmed visible symbol into upper/lower trigrams and a moving line.
• Chart facts: shows the main and changed hexagrams, moving line, Body-Function, and Five Element relationship.
• AI interpretation: is instructed to use six sections for cultural context, risks, counterevidence, actions, and signals; an incomplete structure falls back to the full response.
• User verification: keeps actions low-risk and reversible, then reviews real outcomes after 3, 7, and 30 days.

Its cultural premise is that the current moment can become material for reflection. A time, a number, a thought, or a photo you just snapped can prompt a different way to frame a question; none of these inputs guarantees an answer or future outcome.

The Eight Trigrams

The Eight Trigrams (八卦, Bāguà) organize symbolic relationships and are traditionally used to represent broad patterns in nature and human situations:

The Body-Function Theory

Body-Function (體用) analysis organizes the relationship between a subject and a situation. The hexagram is split into:

• Body (體 Tǐ) — represents YOU, the questioner
• Function (用 Yòng) — represents the SITUATION or other party

Traditional texts use Five Element relationships (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) as symbolic language for support, effort, and obstacles. They do not determine real-world outcomes.

Traditional method, modern learning

People have used symbolic-number methods in many historical settings. Today, they are better approached as cultural study, perspective-taking, and a prompt for reflection—not as factual prediction.

AiDao calculates the symbolic structure and can, when you actively choose a photo, use AI to map visible forms to trigrams. The interpretation is AI-generated and may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is not medical, legal, investment, safety, or other professional advice.

How the project works and is reviewed

The front-end program calculates and visibly presents the chart facts. The text model receives the chart and current question to generate a structured interpretation; the vision model receives a device-compressed image only when the user actively chooses the photo flow. The user must confirm or correct suggested trigrams before casting.

Terminology can be checked against the Chinese Text Project's Book of Changes. Its Huangji Jingshi reference page is included only as background on Song-era symbolic-number thought, not as proof of Plum Blossom authorship or predictive validity.
